Macau Fans Welcome Dreamcatcher As They Head Back On The Road
Dreamcatcher heads out to Macau as the first part of their busy March schedule, but still had time for some surprise content drops for fans and more.

I've said this a lot before, but Dreamcatcher is truly one of if not the most-traveled K-Pop group of their generation. From small places to large, from one side of the globe to the other, Dreamcatcher has racked up lots of destinations for their performances over the years. Yet there are still places that Dreamcatcher hasn't been, and any opportunity to get them checked off is great for the group. This past week, Dreamcatcher began what will likely be the finale portion of their 2024-2025 Luck Inside 7 Doors World Tour, wrapping up in Southeast Asia and Oceania regions, kicking off with another barn burner of a performance in Macau. Here's all the news from that and more!
Prior to setting out, Dreamcatcher began ramping up with a bit of content for fans, starting with a late birthday livestream from Gahyun. After gathering comments from the Dreamcatcher fancafe from fans who were seeking advice on what to buy (or not), Gahyun spent much of the time going through said comments to give sage advice on purchases. We probably don't want to have local Animal Crossing fanatic JiU hear about the fact that Gahyun thinks a Switch 2 is not worth purchasing because games can be played over phone, for example.
This was a fun live to watch despite a few small logistical issues, as it was something different to do that a normal chat and relax birthday activity. It's probably not surprising to hear Gahyun be practical about some things given that she's advised fans during a livestream not to overpay for PCs and to buy food over photobooks, but it was still interesting to see the various things fans thought they were considering.

While Gahyun's birthday livestream was expected, there were a couple other things that were dropped into official media that fans didn't anticipate. One of these was a nice group picture post of Dreamcatcher in their motorcycle biker concept, one that was the theme of the 3rd generation fanclub kit. From what has surfaced online, it seems the photoshoot with this was received pretty well, with a lot of "I didn't know I wanted this til now" type comments, so providing some handy high quality desktop wallpaper of the group for fans to use was nice to see.

JiU also dropped in for a brief livestream on Weverse with fans, with a lot of topics covering her recent maintenance of her shoulder-length hair, her need to set aside the amount of coffee she's been drinking, and some fun discussion on whether or not fans would still be fans of Dreamcatcher if they were zombies in an apocalypse (not surprisingly, they said they would be). It seems that with rare exceptions, livestreams are quite a bit shorter these days, which I find to be fine by me. Dreamcatcher's times for going live frequently happened after their work day was over, and them getting an hour or two back to decompress and relax is a fair price for having less, and shorter, check-ins.
But the larger surprise this past week was Siyeon revealing that she'd tacked on another OST song onto her growing solo catalog, collaborating with Nexon and their action game Elsword to record "Wings of Steel", a hard-charging rock anthem for the game's latest content. For those who aren't familiar Elsword has been around a while - as in 2007 a while, so for such a long-lived game to be able to work with someone from Dreamcatcher is a nice feather Siyeon can put in her cap, something she discussed during another Instagram Live she held this past week.
The song should be on streaming platforms within the week, but until then, Elsword's official YouTube channel dropped in a making-of film with, of course, Siyeon in the studio recording. Her rock-singer style vocals seem well-matched to the composition and vibe of this track, and I'm really looking forward to having it on my playlist on loop for a while.

The main attraction of this past week and into today was, of course, Dreamcatcher getting to perform in Macau for the first time. The setlist appeared to match the one performed for Dreamcatcher's Christmas concert, with a bit of a bonus for both Dami and Handong, who got to celebrate both their March birthdays early with fans. And there were lots of funny concert moments too, like the above one from Siyeon and Yoohyeon.

For Handong in particular, I think this was nice, and a milestone, not just because she'd wanted to perform specifically in Macau but that it was another place to check off from her home country. With the potential for the Hallyu ban on K-Pop to be lifted in a couple of months, perhaps we'll see more places where Handong and her fellow Dreamcatcher members will get to perform in due time.
