I've always appreciated the post-music-show promotion period for K-Pop albums in part because of the fansigns that happen afterwards. While some fans of Dreamcatcher have been concerned at times at the number and amount of them that occur, the time commitment, sans preparation beforehand, is never very long. At the very least, it's not as hectic as the all-day music show rehearse-and-perform grind or the constant variety appearances and other filming of things that are stacked on each other.

Dreamcatcher UAU has a bunch of work to do as they gear up to head out to North and Latin America on their 1st Fancon Grand America tour, which makes a more low-key fansign schedule suitable for them before they hit the road. Let's take a look at what they (and perhaps other Dreamcatcher members) did as late July approaches.

Part of the reason why I like seeing fansign content pop up is because of the fact that it's consistent media content for fans, whether it's through the standard Photo Time segment with members showcasing different looks and fun props, or through live performances. Just recently, during the JumpUp fansign, UAU dropped in a performance of B-side "Sacrifice", all with unique and fun looks accompanying them. Many of these performances are done without choreography, but with every song in UAU's debut having it, we've seen plenty of cane (or in this case umbrella) and chair work done, with no complaints from fans.

Besides the video call and offline fansign content, we've also been seeing a couple of official uploads as well. The "Play" series, which appears to be the UAU version of the Dreamcatcher's Note content, provided the light behind-the-scenes stuff that fans have been looking forward to seeing. In particular, Play #02 was significant because it was the Debut Showcase behind that featured fellow Dreamcatcher members and guest MCs Siyeon and Dami (along with guest VIP audience member Gahyun) to help get UAU started on their third debut journey. As I've said before, I've leaned optimistically towards seeing full Dreamcatcher content at some point in the future, and it's mostly because of these "guest" appearances by other Dreamcatcher members.

Meanwhile, Handong's been a bit busy herself, with work at Gong Fashion night highlighting her recent activities. Handong appears to be based out of Beijing now, and with one of her recent broadcasts saying that she's working on new music, it likely won't be long before we hear from Dreamcatcher's Chinese-born member.

Gahyun also took a step forward looking to keep in touch with fans with the announcement that she'd be joining the DearU Bubble chat platform a couple weeks back. While we're still patiently waiting on what might be next for Dreamcatcher's youngest member, she's communicated to fans that she's wanted to keep in touch. Picking up this way of doing so, similar to the Fromm platform her and other Dreamcatcher members were on, should help that a bit. Alongside her occasional Instagram livestreams, if we're going to hear about what Gahyun will be up to next, it'll be on one of these platforms first.

As for Dami, we last heard from her that she's still working on music, and especially on getting better on the guitar. One of her recent Instagram posts had her ou stand about at shops and perusing some guitars, perhaps looking to upgrade. For someone who is known mostly for her rapping skill, Dami seems to really be branching out into finding her own style of music beyond that, which I obviously support. We got perhaps a little bit of a taste of what a guitar-backed Dami might seem like with 2022 solo "Beauty Full", so I'm looking forward to seeing what she has in store when she's ready.

Of everyone not in UAU, we've probably seen some of the most consistent social media updates from Siyeon, and while we're still waiting on news about her band debut later in the year, she's been keeping fans updated with fun posts about how she's spending her time. In true Siyeon fashion, these have had a mix of casual, random, and delightfully strange pictures, though one of these showed off her latest tattoo addition which is literally straight fire.

For now, however, many Dreamcatcher fans' eyes are on UAU's upcoming tour, with recorded video messages featuring various UAU members talking to each destination. I'm looking forward to this - while it's unknown if they will significantly alter their set of solos, debut album performances, and skits from Taipei for these shows, I'm real interested in the different style that they've worked so hard on perfecting for live performance. As always, you can expect a concert day report from me with all the details, and for more news to be posted about the UAU tour and more from other Dreamcatcher members, so for all that, and more, I'll see you here soon!
