Dreamcatcher Members Promote Individual and Subunit Projects As December Arrives
The last month of the year is here, and even though there's holidays around the corner, Dreamcatcher members continue to be booked and busy.
In the K-Pop industry, the end of the year is usually filled with awards shows and lighter schedules as music programs wind down and artists look to spend at least a little bit of time with family before heading back to the grind in the new year. Yet I feel like Dreamcatcher has sometimes bucked the trend here (as it seems they have done for a lot of their careers). Whether it's releasing a bunch of Special Clip projects, having a comeback crossover into the last month of the year, or, as they did last year, having both a small fan event plus a Christmas concert, they've not been afraid to be busy and working throughout December.
Even with Dreamcatcher in their post-exclusive contract era, the group's individual and subunit projects continue onward, and December is no exception. Here's some of what the group's members have been up to as the holidays approach!
Dami has been hard at work the last couple of months after the release of her first single in "Chequered Flag", but she had a big desire to meet fans and be able to talk to them. Working with frequent vendor partner Soundwave, she made arrangements for two events, including spending time with both offline and online fans.

As someone who's worked with independent artists before, it can be pretty daunting to plan and do all the work that goes into a meet and greet, but if we know anything about Dami, it's that she's never been deterred by being practical and getting the work done herself. The hope is that she eventually gets signed by an agency to help with all the logistical specifics, but until then, Dami's truly a solo project and she's thrown herself into it with the energy we're used to seeing when she's Dreamcatcher's Main Rapper.
We can see the benefits of being signed by an agency in all the things that Handong has been doing these past couple of weeks. Signing with Modern Sky has opened up a bunch of doors for Dreamcatcher's Chinese-born member, including a veritable blitz of media content and promotion that you'd normally see from a K-Pop release. Among the latest album-related content was a performance MV for B-side "The Best Thing", with bright colors and sharp choreography filmed in a graffiti'd dockside set.

This was already on top of some behind-the-scenes content, including a fun visit to the Modern Sky offices to hand out gifts and meet workers, behind the scenes photos of her appearances, promotions, and filming, and an invitation to attend/perform at the 2025 Focus Flow Festival in Beijing to end the year. While a lot of this is the push to establish herself and get recognition, and her agency's strategy to do so, the work being put in late in the year as well as the content Handong has been dropping in has essentially carried the Dreamcatcher media train over the past month or so. Even when she's being funny, she's putting things out for fans to enjoy, and that's a big part of staying visible and busy in the public eye from a pop music standpoint. You love to see it.

Speaking of the public, UAU emerged from their behind-the-scenes work on their new music to drop in for one more concert in Macau to continue onward with their 1st Fan Con series. Macau got to enjoy the more relaxed environment that UAU has brought to all these concerts as well as the closer-knit feel that included lucky fans getting to participate playing games with UAU on stage. As always, these never failed to entertain.
A bonus for this concert was a super early celebration of Yoohyeon's birthday as well. Since it's in early January, and it feels likely that we won't see any more concerts this year, this was a fun bonus moment with Yoohyeon inviting both JiU and SuA to help make a wish with her before blowing out the candles. UAU's been working hard to keep up the Dreamcatcher tradition of touring, and the hope is that it'll continue into the new year (especially for European Dreamcatcher fans, who have yet to enjoy the UAU fan concert experience).
Last but certainly not least, is the fact that the foundation for Siyeon's new band, now known as "Chrocktikal" is just over the horizon. Official social media, including a new Instagram channel to take the place of the informal account from earlier, an X/Twitter account, and a YouTube channel have been stood up, and a new cool-looking logo motion has been set up for the band.
Unlike the UAU logo motion, which was bright, clean, and simple, CRTK's logo came in hot, with a sword forming the T and smashing into the ground. That's probably to be expected for a more rock-ish type band and the sound that Siyeon and company are going for, but it's fun to see.
Promotions for bands, especially those that fall more into the rock or metal scene, are done differently, and with about a month or so between logo reveals and releases for both UAU and Thessyndrome, we're likely to see what CRTK has come up with very soon, something I think we've all been excited about since the news of these activities months ago. Regardless of what happens, I'll be here to report on it, so for all of that and more, I'll see you here next time - though stay tuned for my annual Dreamcatcher Retrospective real soon!
