Dreamcatcher heads into the latter part of February with tons of individual content and a confirmed Siyeon-fronted ChRocktikal tour in the summer.

Already a subscriber? I appreciate you and your support - think about linking or signal-boosting this article to others who are interested in my content. I'd appreciate any constructive comments you have as well. I produce more than just Dreamcatcher content - you can expect occasional but regular articles about games, K-Pop as a whole, and more!

First and foremost, someone was nice enough to give me a generous tip the other day for my work here. All the tips and paid subscriptions go straight into web hosting costs with Ghost, so it's very much appreciated!

In K-Pop, content is king, whether it shows up as part of the company's official channel, on social media from the artists themselves, or from services like Fromm, Bubble, or other paid apps. And this is no less true when groups are focusing more on subunit and individual content, as Dreamcatcher is these days. The group, to me, has always chugged along with their content at a consistent pace, churning out things for fans to see at a pretty good rate for a group that isn't as well-resourced as one from the Big 4.

Yet despite that, I know that especially in the non-exclusive contract era, there have been worries from fans that content would slow once the members of Dreamcatcher were doing their own thing or in small units or collabs, rather than the group as a whole. I totally get that, but it does look as if the empirical evidence, at least over the past year, has pointed to the opposite being true. Though there were some short spurts of no activity and some delays, we've gotten a lot between UAU, Dami and Handong debuting with solo content, and SuA and Gahyun starting up solo YouTube content. These past couple weeks were no different, so let's get right into it!

UAU's still quietly working on new music, although conversations on new texting platform Withfan seem to point to the fact that they might be in post-production, signaling potential to see new music from the subunit soon. TIl then, we got the usual Lunar New Year greeting, with a smartly-dressed UAU wishing fans a happy 2026.

But UAU wasn't the only one doing Lunar New Year's content. Accompanied by friend Sohyun, Gahyun decided to spend the new year trying her hand at putting together some somewhat healthy food. With some of her mom's help in establishing a blueprint, the two cooked up and enjoyed food together while chatting about various topics. Artists cooking has always been a favorite of mine, though admittedly most of that is in watching the struggles through seemingly basic tasks, but Gahyun did just fine here.

Handong's spent Lunar New Year posting various bits of short-form content, from another video with well-known mascot Chiitan to the above vlog of her designing a perfume, a task that should be familar to her after the Dreamcatcher x NEOGEN collaboration from a while back. Once again, of all the individual members generating content, Handong's been tbe busiest over in China, and the holiday didn't seem to slow her down one bit.

But Handong wasn't the only one doing short-form content. Joining the individual Dreamcatcher content channels was Yoohyeon, putting up an official TikTok account for herself. This honestly shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, given how involved Yoohyeon has been in creating Dreamcatcher's TikTok content over the years, but having a solo space to be able to expand on her own should provide yet another way for fans to stay in touch, like with a recent live on the platform. And it's not like we'll be missing out on the rest of Dreamcatcher either - Yoohyeon made a bunch of her early videos with Gahyun, like this fun one that Yoohyeon said they'd filmed while out at a karaoke place.

It does really feel like Dami's been carrying the Dreamcatcher group behind-the-scenes content lately, and her perspective on the 9th anniversary live broadcast was just as funny if not more so than Gahyun's own vlog about the day. Food, friends, and fun seemed to be the order of the day once the "work" of the stream was over, and Dami's vlogs seem to have a theme of peeling back the curtain ever so slightly to see the casual conversation that takes place between members of Dreamcatcher. It feels a bit less restricted, and that's honestly not that bad of a thing.

That lack of standard content or restriction probably helps with all the individual content we've been seeing lately, and SuA, after doing a rather normal Q&A, of course decided to follow it up with a wild and crazy video co-starring Dreamcatcher Company's long time Performance Director Hwang Sooyeon. This wasn't SuA and Sooyeon's first time having fun in the dance studio space, so some of the chaotic moments weren't entirely unexpected, but this was still funny to watch. Beyond that, though it isn't a surprise given professional occupations, it was impressive for SuA and Sooyeon to pretty much come up with a fun choreography almost on the fly for one of Dreamcatcher's best B-sides, 2019's "Diamond".

The most enjoyable stuff I saw from SuA recently, however, was in her swapping roles to be one of ChRocktikal's managers for a day. From fancams of the show, we knew that her and JiU had shown up to the first show to support Siyeon, but I hadn't realized that SuA was vlogging about that either. As someone who worked plenty of concerts back in the day, I was nodding my head at some of the tasks SuA got to do, and also in figuring out that sometimes you're just a general fixer for the artists. There were of course lots of heartwarming moments between Dreamcatcher's unnie (i.e. older female) line, and SuA utilized her loud voice and energetic personality to her fullest in encouraging fans to give it up for ChRocktikal's performances.

Those performances will be coming to the US, Canada, and Mexico close to the summer this year, as North American promoter Leo Presents announced dates for the ChRocktikal first world tour. As expected, there are a lot of stops in smaller venues, allowing fans of Dreamcatcher to experience the hard rock and metal sound of Siyeon's brand new band project up close and personal. Right now, due to where the dates land, I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but if I do hit up one of these shows, you can expect that I'll put up a concert day report as per usual. And with content both current and upcoming from the members of Dreamcatcher, I feel like until this tour kicks off we'll have plenty to hear from the group that I can report on, so for all of that and more, I'll see you here next time!
